Web pages. History and Temporary
Internet File settings We've added the option to clear your
browser history, and delete Temporary Internet files.
The VIP PowerNet
Toolbar We've added the VIP PowerNet toolbar to
help you navigate to useful sections of the VIP PowerNet's web site. This can
be found on the top of the VIP PowerNet Browser. The Toolbar is an easy way to
explore the services available to VIP PowerNet members. The VIP PowerNet
Toolbar contains icons that act like shortcuts to VIP PowerNet channels, (such
as Sports and Travel) and also various services, such as Banking, Shopping and
Phone. You can go to different parts of the VIP PowerNet Web site by clicking
on any of these icons.(image)
Saving Web Pages Even when you are offline, you
can view the content of the Web page by saving the Web page on your computer.
To save a Web page: 1. On the Web page you want to save, click
on Menu Options then select File from the drop down menu and click on Save As
option. 2. In the Save Web Page dialog box, click the 'Save in' arrow to
select the folder where you want to save the web page. 3. In the File name
box, type the name of the Web page. You can type any name that you want.
4. Click Save. Tip: Be sure you remember where you saved the
Web page so that you can access it later. (images) Sending a Web
page link When
you want to send information on a Web page to a friend who has Web access, you
can send them a link to the page in an e-mail message. When a person reads your
message, they can click the link that will then bring them to the Web page you
want them to see.
To send a Web page link: 1. From the Web page you want to send, copy the
link from the address bar by click once in the address and press Ctrl + C on the
keyboard. Go to the Write Screen and press Ctrl + V in the text area of the email.
You will the see the exact link pasted in the body of your e-mail. 2. Address
your message and if necessary, change the text in the Subject box.
History and
Temporary Internet Files Settings With
the help of these new features, you can not only protect your privacy while surfing
the Web, but also save the disk space by clearing out the history and temporary
Internet files from your computer. These features are: o Clearing Web
browser history o Deleting Temporary Internet files Clearing
Web browsing history The VIP PowerNet browser keeps a log, called a history,
of each Web page you visit. By default, this history is saved when you exit VIP
PowerNet. It is recommended that you periodically clear your Web browsing history
to free up space on your computer. To clear your Web browsing history:
1. Click on the History option at the bottom of the browser (status bar)
2. Select either "Remove all history pages now" or "Clear all history pages when
you close the browser". 3. Click OK. Tip: To clear your Web browsing
history every time you exit VIP PowerNet, select the "Clear all history pages
when you close the browser" check box.
Deleting Temporary Internet files
VIP PowerNet stores temporary files on your computer's hard drive as you browse
the Web, such as Web pages, cookies, images, and sounds. By default, these files
are saved after you exit VIP PowerNet, so that the next time you revisit a Web
page, these files are used again to speed the loading time. To free up space on
your computer, it is recommended that you periodically delete these temporary
Internet files. To delete temporary Internet files: 1. Click on the
History option at the bottom of the browser (status bar) 2. Select either
"Remove all temporary Internet files now" or "Clear all temporary files when you
close the browser". 3. Click OK. Tip: To delete temporary Internet
files every time you exit VIP PowerNet, select the Clear all temporary files when
you close the browser check box. |
